Industrial and economic decision makers got together at this year’s 1st international conference for electric mobility in Paris, which took place from April 15 to 16.

Paris/Munich, May 2010. The highly successful 1st international eCarTec Paris Conference for electric mobility was held from April 15 to 16, 2010. The over 150 conference members were presented with a diverse conference program including exciting presentations, lively discussions and a moderated discussion round at which they were informed about the potential of electric mobility, trends, infrastructure and pioneering developments in the automotive industry, storage industry and the field of infrastructure in general. Moreover, interested corporations had a chance to present themselves to the participants of the conference at specially designed meeting points. An exclusive evening event took place at the end of the first conference day and was a good opportunity for all participants to get in touch with other business partners and to intensify discussions in a casual atmosphere.

The conferences focused on a practical exchange of experience and discussions about current challenges and future trends regarding electric mobility that corporations will have to face in the next few years.  The conference participants familiarized themselves with four core topics and gained an overview of the current status regarding innovations, trends and future prospects of electric mobility. Topics such as “challenges of electric vehicles for the customers” (PSA Peugeot Citroën), “e-mobility – technologies for integral traffic concepts of the future” (Siemens) or “the new quick charging system” (Mitsubishi) were presented and discussed. "Especially in France, the market for electric mobility is a promising one: The French government is planning to purchase approximately 100,000 electric cars for its authorities, municipalities and state-owned enterprises by 2015. Plans have also been made to establish a nationwide system with one million charging stations by 2015 and to invest 1.5 billion euros into the infrastructure required for this promising e-revolution. The goal of the conference was to bring together all important market players at one event. And this is what we achieved “, says Robert Metzger, Managing Director at MunichExpo GmbH and organizer of the conference. "With our events, eCarTec in Paris in April and eCarTec in Munich in October, we are covering both major markets for electric mobility in Europe. Paris will address the French, Spanish and English market whereas Munich seeks to address the rest of Europe ".

eCarTec Munich will take place from October 19 to 21, 2010, eCarTec Paris from March 30 to 31, 2011.
